Save Our Grassroots is a national movement to protect Britain’s most iconic community sports grounds and green spaces using humour, pride, and togetherness to spark action.
Our parks, grassroots pitches and playing fields are the heart of our communities; they’re where we scored our first goal, met our best mates, learned to ride bikes, walked our dogs - and turned up rain or shine. But flooding, waterlogging, and extreme weather are putting these cherished places at risk.
This campaign taps into what makes us British: our love for the outdoors, our unbeatable team spirit, our dry wit, and our belief that when something’s under threat, we roll up our sleeves and save it.

match funding
Save Our Grassroots has announced a new £100,000 matched funding pot to help grassroots clubs across the country install new nature-based solutions at local pitches to prevent flooding and game cancellations. It is estimated that over 100,000 games are cancelled due to poor pitch conditions, and the total pledged equates to £1 for every grassroots match postponed each season across the country.
